Tracy Pugh, Policy Coordinator
Tracy Pugh is a policy coordinator for the New York policy office of the Drug Policy Alliance. She engages in policy research, advocacy and organizing to address the harms related to punitive drug policies. Prior to joining DPA, Tracy worked as a policy associate at The New York Academy of Medicine’s (NYAM) Division of Health Policy where she engaged in policy analysis and research on issues addressing health disparities in New York. Tracy was instrumental in the development of Blueprint for a Public Health & Safety Approach to Drug Policy, co-published by DPA and NYAM. This landmark report, informed by evidence and community input, provides a roadmap for a comprehensive, coordinated and balanced approach to drug policy that is aligned with the health and safety needs of communities. Through the implementation of the Blueprint, Tracy seeks to help advance a new and effective approach to drug policy across New York.
Tracy holds a Master of Health Science (MHS) in Health Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a B.A. from Cornell University.
