Development Intern, New York, NY

The Drug Policy Alliance, the nation's leading organization of people who believe the war on drugs is doing more harm than good, seeks a student intern in the development office of our New York headquarters. Interns will work closely with development staff on data entry and data management, event planning and preparation, and assist with administrative work. We will be happy to work with students to obtain credit towards coursework.  The internship is not paid.

Qualification: Interns must possess strong research, writing, and general communication skills. Interns should demonstrate interest in drug policy reform. Some prior experience in fundraising is appreciated but not necessary.

Internships are flexible based on the student’s availability and the organization’s needs.

Applications for summer 2008 are being accepted now.

To apply:  Please fax a cover letter and resume to Clovis Thorn, Director of Development, at (212) 613-8021, or e-mail: cthorn@drugpolicy.org.
