WEBINAR: Stemming the Tide - Drug Testing for Benefits
Join us for a Webinar on Thursday, February 28th from 10am to 11:30am EST
In recent years, a number of state legislatures and even the federal government have considered proposals to require individuals to take and pass a drug test as a condition for receiving certain public benefits to which they are otherwise entitled. These types of provisions stigmatize poor people, unemployed people, and people who use drugs or may need treatment.
Presenters will provide an update on the state of drug testing for benefits, legal and media strategies that can be used in your legislative and advocacy campaigns, and allow webinar participants to share best practice from across the country.
Presenters include:
- Daniel Abrahamson, Director, Office of Legal Affairs, Drug Policy Alliance
- Mark O’Brien, Policy Associate, Legal Action Center
- Grant Smith, Policy Manager, Office of National Affairs, Drug Policy Alliance
- Jason Williamson, Staff Attorney, American Civil Liberties Union, Criminal Law Reform Project
Space is limited.
