Notes
- The first article in the New York Times described the hope of Sernyl as a new anesthetic development (March 27, 1958).
- It later evolved that he faked this attack be he was an undercover narc who carried out the charade to escape the consequences of having blown his cover.
- Scott-Heron has previously composed anti-heroin and anti-alcohol songs.
- The conviction was later overturned on appeal because of irregularity by officers in informing Braeske of his rights. He awaits retrial.
- Phillips made these statements in a phone conversation with J.P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 1980.
