Poll Shows Americans Support Syringe Availability. Kaiser Family Foundation. May 2001.

A national poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation, reported in The AIDS Epidemic at 20 Years: The View from America, shows that a majority of the American public favors needle exchange programs (58%), allowing IDUs to purchase syringes in pharmacies (61%), and allowing doctors to prescribe sterile syringes to IDUs (60%).
