NORML Names New Head Honcho
December 22, 2004

The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) has named Allen St. Pierre to replace founder and retiring executive director Keith Stroup. St. Pierre joined NORML in 1991 and has worked as the director of its educational arm, the NORML Foundation.

"Comfortable in hemp apparel as he is in Harris Tweed, necessarily, Allen has one foot in the button-down world of NORML's K Street environs and the other in a muddy, rain-soaked hemp rally," said Stephen Dillion, chair of the NORML board of directors, in a statement. "Serving as the organization's archivist and chief information officer since 1991, Allen's forgotten more about marijuana and marijuana policy than most scholars will ever know about the subject matter. Allen is generous with his time and knowledge, regularly providing valuable assistance to scholars, students, and activists."
