Help Stop AIDS - Expanded access to clean sterile syringes will prevent the spread of blood-borne diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C by eliminating the use of non-sterile syringes as a source of disease transmission.

IHRD - The Drug Policy Alliance co-founded and now works closely with the Open Society Institute’s International Harm Reduction Development program (IHRD), which supports initiatives in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union to help reduce the harms associated with drug use -- especially the risk of HIV infection -- through grants and technical support.
